On the foreign relations front,there was visit of the pm to bhutan and his addressing a joint parliamentary session besides inviting SAARC leaders to his swearing in.
On the educational front,indian engineering degrees were recognsed by education boards of 17 countries including america and australia.
On the issue of tackling curruption,the governt ment set up a SIT on blackmoney,recovered Rs 1818 CRORES from AUGUSTA WESTLAND.
A noteworthy development is the finig of the NATIONAL HERALD CASE in the supreme court by Dr subramaniam swamy against sonia gandhi and rahul gandhi amongst others.if successfully convicted,the gandhi mother and son duo could face 27 years in prison.
On the negative front,the government drew flak for hiking railway prices by 14% for second class travel.Experts believe that the move was necessary to cover up the Rs 24000 cr loss incurred by the railways during the year 2012-2013.
Minister HARSHVARDHAN came under criticism for his comments on sex education.it must be said that the criticism was not fully justified.
